A Beautiful Baptism

Since the Adirondack Mountains are so special to Daddy and I, we decided that we'd like to have all of our kids baptized there.  So, that's exactly what happened for you today!  In the beautifully quaint town of Inlet, New York at St. Anthony of Padua's Church, Father Kevin baptized you.  You were amazing through the whole ceremony, just quietly taking it all in.
You were wearing a very special outfit, the very same one that Mommy wore for my baptism!  Ellie was too big by the time she was baptized, but it fit you just right.
Uncle Luke and Aunt Dayna were very proud to stand up there with you and be your godparents.  We all cheered as you became a member of the Catholic church.
There was quite the turn out for the event.  Almost all of your aunt and uncles were there.  Uncle Mark and Uncle Nathan were very sad they couldn't be there, but everyone else made it.  :o)
With so many people here...of course there was cake!  You got to share the celebration with Aunt Megan since she's turning 30 this year.  Yaya (Nonna) had a special cake planned for her...a turkey cake! (Yes, you read that right.)  It looked so real she was afraid to cut into it!
You had lots of fun with your godparents while they were here.  We're so glad they made the long trip!
Mommy, Daddy and Sister were very proud of you today, Charlotte Josephine.  We love you!  :o)

A Lot of Meet & Greets

You were passed around from hand to hand when we arrived at Rocky Point in the Adirondacks today.  Everyone wanted to meet you, Charlotte!
Your Aunt Megan, Uncle Daniel, Aunt Melinda and your cousin Benjamin all took turns enjoying your precious chunk.  Benjamin wanted to know why you had blowed-up cheeks like your sister.  :o)
Your godparents, Uncle Luke and Aunt Dayna introduced themselves to you; you seemed pretty comfortable in their arms.  Nonna's sister, Aunt Amy definitely had the magic touch with you too.  And Daddy's cousins Natalie and Lauren loved holding you every chance they got!
Uncle Sam made it up to the Adirondacks just in time for your baptism!
You met your cousins Ari and Christian, and Aunt Jess too, but with you eating so often, we never got a chance to get pictures with them.  You were introduced to your second cousins Tommy and Danielle, and Great Uncle Pauly, Freddy and Aunt Diane while we were there as well.  It was a big crowd coming together to meet the newest member of both the Briggs and Messmer family!

2-Months-Old Already!

You are growing so quickly!  You had your two-month appointment today and weighed in at 13.2lbs.  Only three weeks ago you were 11.4 - that's almost 2 pounds in 3 weeks!  You are 22.8 inches (57.8cm) long with a head circumference of 39cm...above average in every category (especially weight, where you're in the 95%).  We're so proud of you!
You're smiling much more often now, and even starting to coo a little.  We haven't heard you giggle yet, but I think it's going to happen soon!  You're getting used to the Moby wrap which makes life a LOT easier for Mommy, and your naps are starting to become regular...almost.  :o)
Happy two-month birthday little Charlotte!  This weekend is a big weekend for you.  You're going on your first airplane ride, you get to meet all of your aunts and uncles (except for Uncle Nate and Uncle Mark), and you'll be baptized!  Everyone is so excited to see your smiling face, not to mention all of your doughy, chewable chunk!

7 Weeks

So I missed your 6 week photo, but this picture TOTALLY makes up for it. It is an instant classic and already has a place up on our mantle.  :o)  You are continuing to grow like crazy and are already wearing some 3-month and even 6-month outfits!  (Some that your sister didn't fit into until she was 5 months old, by the way.)  You are stealing our hearts with your smiles, Little Charlotte.  I can't wait until we can hear your sweet voice too!  For now we'll just appreciate your beautiful chunkiness and precious face.  :o)

Buddha Baby

That was your nickname in the doctor's office yesterday at your one-month check-up (and coincidentally, the name Daddy's been calling you).  You have been growing like a champ!  It is normal for a newborn to gain about a pound of weight from birth to one-month.  YOU went from 7 pounds 14 ounces to 11 pounds 4 ounces!  That's almost 3 1/2 pounds!  You were in the 43rd percentile and now you have moved into the 93rd percentile.  Obviously all of that eating is paying off.
I tried to capture your Buddha belly while you were keeping me awake last night.  The pictures just don't do it justice...
