One Thing Led To Another...

Well, it's officially started: Mommy is in nesting mode.  Ellie and I went out to buy your crib yesterday.  We also came home with a crib set (quilt, sheets, etc.) and a double stroller.  While your sister was sleeping, Mommy started clearing out your room to get ready for you.

This started out as a simple process, but turned into a whole-house overhaul!  It seemed like one task always led to another.  For example, I needed to find a place for all of the blankets in your closet, so I cleaned out the cabinets in the family room.  While doing that, I also fixed one of the cabinet doors and installed child-locks on them.

The pictures in your room needed to be moved too, so Mommy boxed up a bunch of the books from the downstairs guest room to make shelf room for the frames.  While moving the frames, it seemed like a good time to update some of the photos...so I went ahead and printed some new ones.  I can't wait to add your picture to them too!

Needless to say, your room is coming along slowly...but it's getting there!  We're taking our time because we want it to be perfect for you.  We love you 2.0!

Day Dreaming

I'm just sitting here today, while your sister is sleeping, and letting my mind wander.  I'm dreaming of you.  What are you going to look like?  Feel like?  Talk like?  Act like?  I try to picture your little face; your eyes, your nose, your lips, your cheeks.  I see your tiny hands, your little feet.  I imagine your smile, and your laugh.

I have an image in my head of my two little girls playing on the floor together.  Sharing hugs and kisses, stuffed animals and blocks...and probably colds and sneezes too.  You run around and giggle and squeal as Rockne runs away from the two of you.  You sit at the little table in the basement together and share a snack.

I know life won't be as rosy as it is in my dreams, but I will cherish the good and the bad alike.  I look forward to out new adventure starting in just a few short months little girl.  I love you.

Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum!

Twenty-six weeks have gone by and I think you're starting to run out of room in there already.  Your little kicks and punches have turned into large bumps and movements.  Every once in a while I think I feel your little rump rolling across my belly!  Instead of pitter-patter, it's more like fee-fi-fo-fum!

Music & Movement

I'm starting to think you and your sister have a lot in common already.  She has been bopping to music ever since she came out of Mommy's belly.  You, however, already seem to be moving to the beats!  I've noticed you jumping around in there whenever I'm singing; it just makes me want to sing more!  I can see lots of fun dance parties in Mommy's future with her two little girls.  :o)

Into the Final Trimester

Wow, I can't believe you've been growing in there for 6 months now.  Time is flying by!  Pretty soon you're going to be running around our house and I'll only have pictures to prove that you came from me.
We were in Raleigh, North Carolina this weekend to celebrate your cousin Benjamin's 4th birthday.  Your Aunt Melinda snapped a couple of photos of Mommy to show just how much room you're taking up these days.  Mommy's belly is definitely popping out.
Cousin Benjamin is very excited that you're going to be here in a few months.  He kept rubbing my belly and asking me when my cute little baby was coming out.  He also asked if you were taking up room in my back side too, since, according to him, I have "a pretty big bottom."  :o)
You've got lots of fun to look forward to with your cousins and sister in the future: matching pajamas, bubble baths, and so much more!

Saying Hello

I just love the way my two girls are getting along already.  I don't think your sister quite understands that you're coming yet, but when I ask her if she wants to say hello to the baby, she lifts up my shirt and pats my belly.  :o)  I think you've been trying to say hello back, too, because you seem to be giving extra little kicks and punches while Ellie's lying on me in the rocking chair at night.  She hasn't caught on that it's you yet, but I think it'll happen soon!
